Immersion Detroit: The Dinner

“Immersion Detroit: The Dinner” (September 21, 2025) is the culminating experience of Immersion Detroit—a night that extends the spirit of the exhibition into an intimate dining setting. Hosted by Graham Stanton Co, the evening gathers artists, collaborators, and guests among the large-scale floral installations to share food, conversation, and community.

Blending design, scent, and storytelling, the dinner invites attendees to slow down and experience the installations through a new sensory lens—celebrating connection and creativity at the close of Detroit Month of Design at PLAYGROUND DETROIT.

The Dinner

A limited-seat dining experience closes the weekend: guests gather for a multi-course meal led by chef Will Brinkerhoff, served inside the installation space itself. Surrounded by flowers, the evening blurs the line between art and atmosphere—a floral dream and a night to remember.

For many guests, a meal shared beneath flowers becomes something more than dinner—it becomes connection, conversation, and gratitude made tangible.”

Brinkerhoff, a soil scientist completing his doctoral degree at the University of Michigan’s School for the Environment and Sustainability, trains in classic French cooking at Chez Panisse, the birthplace of the farm-to-table movement. He collaborates with Michigan farmers and foragers to design menus that celebrate local produce and seasonal abundance. His courses are guided by a sense of place—and by gratitude for the growers, gatherers, and ranchers who make each dish possible.
