COMM[UNITY] is PLAYGROUND DETROIT’s inaugural group exhibition featuring over 30+ artists to celebrate the the grand gallery opening at 2845 Gratiot Avenue.
The presentation of artwork seeks to unify and demonstrate the talent and dedication of Detroit’s creative community, which is bound not by geography or practice, but by an enduring set of shared values of respect and creativity.
It is an honor to hold space for the Emerging Artist community in Detroit. PLAYGROUND DETROIT advocates for artists and hold space for art, community, exchange and connectivity amid industry-wide challenges and on-going local art space and gallery closures.
PLAYGROUND DETROIT is welcome to anyone and everyone. We provide a space for all community members and is accessible across race, gender, class, sexuality and ability. We believe in creating an environment that is inclusive and welcoming, where everyone—guests, artists, customers, staff, and community members—are treated with respect and dignity.
