Lepkowski’s presentation invited viewers to reflect on the intersection between human perception and the digital interface. Through intricate, multi-layered compositions that merge analog and software-based techniques, his work mirrored the overstimulation of our online existence—while also searching for quiet moments of grounding and reconnection beyond the screen.

We are experiencing a great cultural shift in how we communicate and understand the world. My work looks critically at our collective experience within these digital ecosystems and asks: what is the effect of algorithmically curated content on the mind?” — Frank Lepkowski

In works such as Life Happens for You, Shock and Awe, and Knowledge Bearers, Lepkowski’s process of collage and redrawn YouTube thumbnails investigates the algorithmically optimized content that circulates and gains popularity within digital culture.

“Shock and Awe”, 40×54″, Inkjet on Canvas, Polyester Thread, 2022.
“Knowledge Bearers”, 96×54″, Inkjet on Canvas, Polyester Thread, 2022.

Meanwhile, pieces like Dusk in Iowa and Golden Hour in Boston-Edison extend this inquiry, asking: what do we seek out when we’re not online? What can heal a scattered, overstimulated mind? What experiences keep us grounded in our own humanity and reality?
